It’s always the right time for a getaway but when I know i’m going to a resort or beach location in the middle of winter, I definitely am less excited about slipping into my bikini or short shorts. The hubby and I just went on a quick 36-hr trip to The Resort at Pedregal in Cabo a large group of friends and had the most amazing time! If you’ve never been this resort is unbelievable and so gorgeous. We went without the kids but looks like it could be kid friendly as well. I’m sharing more pics below of the trip but first I wanted to include a few of my essentials for a beach vaca during the winter. It’s a short list but was helpful to make sure I was comfortable throughout the trip and not worrying about trivial things so I could focus on the time spent with good friends!

1- Sunless Tanner

Even if you’re brown like me, bronze, glowy skin is always great way to help you look more lean and youthful. It also helps camouflage any imperfections like cellulite, vericose veins, or other skin marks. It’s like makeup for your skin and this Jergens Foam Tanner is my new fave. I recommend applying with a large round makeup brush rather than your hands or even a mit. It just ensures a way more even application and no streaks. For under $15 this is definitely a must have! My fave is the Real Techniques powder brush one of my fave lines an sold at drugstores. This brush is also only $10!

2- A sexy one-piece

Since having babies I definitely don’t feel as comfy wearing a 2-piece. I’m either being pulled on or holding a child that makes me look hunchback and not the cutest. So, I’ve been loving one-pieces lately and this monokini from amazon is the cutest! I love how it’s high waisted but then shows a little of my tummy. It also has great coverage in the back and the scallop detail is adorable! Posting another one I love as well below.

3- A good coverup

Beach coverups are my jam and an essential when I travel to the beach year round. But sometimes I want to wear something that I can put on and take off easily and also wear while I show off my suit. Some coverups cover it all up! I purchased this long floral kimono wrap with tie from LF Stores locally here in Manhattan Beach but found a super cute dupe. I also wear this with jeans and a tank regularly! Love it and multipurpose!

4- Trendy glasses

If you’re like me, I don’t take care of my accessories while on vaca. I’m so bad at this! So, over the years, I’ve learned to keep my expensive shades safe at home. Instead I stock up on 1-2 pairs of trendy eyewear I know will look good in pics but I don’t have to worry if they get lost at sea or scratched up. These geometric aviators from Forever 21 are so cute and under $10!

5- A good hat

Sun protection has never been more important to me than now at 36 when I feel the effects of the UV rays. I always wear sunscreen and add a hat. I love a good floppy sunhat but they’re not always practical to wear if with friends. It’s great while lounging pool side but I often times find myself lifting it up or moving it to the side to chat with someone. I usually love stealing my hubby’s baseball caps. I’m wearing my dear friend’s cap here, owner of this awesome outdoor surfboard shower line, Strand Boards. Side note: if you’re in the market for one of these check her stuff out. It’s amazing!

And now for some pics from this short, but epic getaway!

Our crew! This was the first time we went on a trip with some newer friends that we’re getting to know. It was beyond an amazing experience and feels so good to know we live in a community that is so loving and supportive. What’s even more special is that our kids are the one’s that brought us all together. So the fact we get along so well is just icing on the cake!!

What can I say about these lovely ladies!? Each one of these women are amazing in their own right and I got to know them all on a different level. A lot times, we encounter other moms as just that- when we’re doing our mom duties, so it was refreshing to get to know these women as the professionals & overall badasses that they are!

Also got some one-on-one time with my honey which is always a nice treat. He did have a little beach football accident which scared us all for a minute but he’s on the mend!
